St Lawrence Chapel Warminster is independent of the Church of England and has been owned by the town since 1575.

We are entirely reliant on donations, grants, fund raising by the Friends of the Chapel, bequests and rental income from Curfew cottage (Situated to the rear of the Chapel)

The Chapel supports a wide range of religious, civic, community and charity events.

We need your support to protect and develop this much loved Chapel in the heart of Warminster for future generations.

Why not consider a bequest. We are a small Charity. Your contribution can make a huge difference and allow us to tackle a wide range of projects.

If you would like to consider making a bequest to St Lawrence chapel then we have provided some helpful information.

  • Once you’ve looked after your family and friends, you may wish to leave a gift to a charity close to your heart.

  • Please ensure that you obtain professional advise when writing or updating your will.

  • Ensure the correct wording is used. (There are different types of legacy. It is important to understand the differences)

  • A bequest can stipulate that it is for general use without any restrictions or for a specific use with conditions.

  • Please take care how a specific use or conditions are worded.

    • We may not be able to accept the bequest.

    • It could increase our liabilities.

    • It could limit our ability to target urgent projects.

  • St Lawrence Chapel follow the Fundraising guidance given by the Chartered Institute of Fundraising. (The requirement is to treat families with respect, sensitivity, honesty, openness and fairness. All information provided will be considered strictly confidential).

  • Please note that we are unable to offer professional advice on writing or updating a will.

  • We cannot operate as executors of a will.
